About Ruth Guest

With over a decade of experience in photography, creative-direction, sales, marketing and psychology, my career pivoted from photography, documenting life in bustling cities like London, Dublin and Paris, to founding Sersha, social media safety training for pre-teens, simplified.

In 2019, a meditation trip in Nepal shifted my perspective. I yearned to blend spirituality and purpose into my work and life, using what talents I have to help others. In 2020, throughout the pandemic, immersed in nature in rural Ireland, I delved into my art, writing, and Cyberpsychology MSc studies, graduating with first-class honours. I developed a keen interest in how we as a civilisation communicate online and what implications it may have for the real world. I have a specific interest in what the future of communication online holds, specifically relating to AR and photorealistic avatars. My thesis focuses on the short-form video app TikTok, self-presentation and self-concept clarity. This thesis is available for download here.
